refresher

there always comes a point where we feel the need to start fresh in different aspects of life. in the realm of online writing, i spent many years & many usernames as a part of livejournal but gradually i found myself limiting my audience as well as writing more in private. now i could cut down the clutter & leave my blog postings in the land of myspace but recently i started focusing my "myspace time" on my music & such. so here i am, blogspot. the irony is that as new as this account is, i was once a member back in 2002 with an account focusing on my small idea of a project called Take Today. crazy, really.

now i never really thought too much about what i want to post in here or how personal i would let myself get. but honestly, what do i have to lose? it's not like i've got some profound words to write or anything ground-breaking. just some random ramblings & the usual recap of my everyday life. so let's get down to business in some way...

recent happenings:
  • during the week i had problems with my car & it's inability to start everytime i tried. the problem was speculated to be the battery, the ignition switch, & eventually the starter. so on friday i ended up having to spend a pinch under $130 for a new starter. thankfully, i had brad's co-worker, rich, do it for no charge. go me!
  • on thursday i returned to 1021 studios to lay down additional vocals for the take today ep that we started work on in september. this ep turned into a bigger project than we originally anticipated but honestly, i'm proud of what we've done thus far. each song has a different feel & these songs mean a lot to me personally. other than laying down vocals, we finally got a chance to record the samples for the cd. two different lines from film The Science of Sleep by Michel Gondry. i'm stoked for the cd to get finished. also while i was in the studio, i began speaking with my engineer, jay grosse, about work on a future solo record of sorts. hopefully 2008 that can happen & i'll be stoked. also on the horizon, finishing the Empty Handed NJ, tracked earlier in the year by jay.
  • a week prior, i paid a visit to my old pal, vinnie rimmer. got some ink done for the first time in over two years. i must say, it rules. seriously.
  • as usually, me & alina spent time doing nothing. such as walking circles at malls, eating food, & listening to the same bands i always listen to in my car. HA!
other than all of that i've been spending my time working as per usual & building all sorts of theories & conspiracies. oh i just remembered, earlier this week, ian, brad, & myself went to waffle house for the first time in a long while for me. it was brad's first. also since i'm recalling things outside of my little list above... i got to see julie last weekend & spend a good while hanging out together. i think this is good enough for my first entry. time to go delete things & make more lists for future posts. oh, i also have food to eat. haha. goodbye, loves.
